Fort Bridger Rendezvous 2009

So we have made this new tradition to head to the Fort Bridger Rendezvous for Labor day. We left Friday night and camped out on the banks of Flaming Gorge so we could boat all day Saturday. We had a fabulous night. I am finding that lake camping is a little rough people tend to bring there boats doc them in the water and sit and drink all weekend and this was no exception. We had some group playing there music all night long and it was so loud it sounded like it was right in our tent. Lucky enough the kids slept through it but the rest of us weren't so lucky I tried and tried to get Grinner to turn the car lights on and shine it into there trailer until they turned it off but he wouldn't do it party pooper. Anyway other than the lack of sleep the kids had a blast on the boat and playing in the water. We then headed to my brother in laws parents home and spent the rest of the weekend there. They are only minutes from Ft. Bridger. His mom makes the best scones so we all had Navajo Taco's for dinner and the kids played with my Mark (my Bro in laws) nieces and nephews. They live in a small town called Mountain View and there back yard is the wilderness. Oh how I want to live like that send my kids in the backyard to roam the fields and not worry so much about were they are or what they are doing so what if they make a mess in the Woods right!! We went to the Rendezvous on Sunday going to the LDS services that morning. I truly enjoy this, people from all wakes of life some times in is quite humorous and other very touching. But I love being in the out doors most every dressed in pre 1900's clothing and the sacrament being passed it is very picturesque and reminiscent of how it must have been for the pioneers. Very fun we then wondered around talking to the people and watching the different shows Indian dancing, story telling, magic shows, etc. I love watching the people and they all dress up from southern bells to boys with loins clothes to to fun. Until next year! picture to come if I can get them out of my camera I've lost the charger:(
