Our Saturday stories

Funny things the kids said the last few days and both had to do with "saturday's"

On Saturday after Jaxon had already eaten 1-1/2 waffles, several pieces of bacon and milk. I had just got it all cleaned up the conversation went as follows

Jaxon, "Mom I am starving"
Mom, "You just finished eating"
Jaxon, "but I am still starving"
Mom, "I don't have anymore food for you until lunch"
Jaxon, "you better stock up on Saturdays mom because I am going to be really, really, really, really, really, really,... hungry on saturdays so you need lots of food."

On Monday Gavin was on the potty and yelled his usual Mommy! I'm done! so I went in to wipe him he is depending on the day doing a little better at wiping himself so the conversations went like this.

Mom, " I thought you were going to wipe you own bottom these days"
Gavin, " not on saturday's mom"

Ella "the little girl"

So I think that I have a baby but she just isn't anymore. I usually put her hair in pigtails or she wears it natural curly but I blow dried it this morning and I couldn't believe how much hair she really has and how grown up she looks when you blow dry it. I had to take a few pictures but she wasn't really cooperating so they aren't the best but the whole point was the hair so no worries. I know I am bias but what a pretty little thing she is. We just can't get enough.

Jaxon's "Spring Sing"

We are in to it now all of the recitals, ballgames, and year end field trips, field days, and class programs. Jaxon just had his last week and they did such a cute job. Ella decided to drop my little camera a few hours before the event so I didn't get any video. I am so sad but am hoping I will find a mom who did film it and get a little from them. Anyway they sang songs about all the months of they year hence the posters that I did for them (they are the small spec in the center of the stage. (I believe too small but I just did what I was told) you really could see them though and I was at the back. Jaxon played an instrument for one of the songs that looked like a xylophone but he said that it was bells. They all did such a cute job and we were so proud of him. He sang is heart out the whole time.

Jaxon is in the red and white stripe on the left

I had to take a few pictures of the posters just to remind myself that I shouldn't say I will do something before I know exactly what it is.
Jaxon playing the bells/xylophone I told him that is what he gets to do because he is playing the piano bribe bribe bribe!

Singing but enjoying it is the questions?

The whole Burton Elementary 1st Grade

Jaxon's Piano recital

I finally got Jaxon's piano recital to upload.( the recital was on April 21st) We are so proud of him he doesn't exactly love the whole piano thing but when he gets a song that he likes and get to the point that he can play it pretty well he gets pretty excited. He even played this for show and tell at school a couple of days before the recital show and tell was "share a talent" so it was perfect practice. I just can't believe how big he is getting and how well he is doing. (when he puts his mind to it) I particularly like the bow at the end that's my Jaxon!!

Top Ten or so For April sometime to May 19th

I forgot to add the biggest top ten of all for me anyway I ran the Salt lake half marathon on the 18th of April and felt really good. This was my second Half marathon I have run I ran syrcuse last year (not one a would recomend) and I think that I am getting the itch for a whole one but it really depends on how my run had gone on any particular day whether or not I really believe I could do it.

10. Ella climbs out of her crib

5. spend a day at thanksgiving point with friends
4. go with Jaxon to his year end field trip to the discovery gateway
3. still volunteer each week at jax school and do art start once a month can't wait for school to be done
2. in charge of the April's singing part of music makers (play group) I am glad I don't have to do that every month
1. Grin turns 31 and we give him rock band for his birthday now we have started down the list of people we can invite over so we can rock so so fun. We also celebrate many other birthdays in the month of may so we had lots of trips up the road to Paradise and down the road to American Fork
0. Grin gets a new Job still for Ken Garff but now he is selling Nissan's in Ogden a 15 minute commute and seems to be a lot less stressful for him.

Spring Windows

So I was going to get better pictures of these before I posted them. The daytime just has too much reflection but I will be doing new windows before I get back down there to take a night time pic so here they are. We did a cherry blossom tree in the back with my old bike (I had no idea it was so antique looking how sad) in the front windows we did a flower and grass back drop with swings hanging from the ceiling they were so fun to do and I can't wait to do the next ones I am really starting to get into the flow and look forward to the creative relief every 6 weeks.

Tricycle rides

I went out to check on Gavin and Ella the other day and they were riding the tricycle together Ella found a perfect spot on the back of Gavin's bike she holds up her legs and holds on. I thought it was so cute. I was a little worried about her feet but she did such a good job and they have such fun riding around.

Girls Night meets daytime fun!

In April our girls night was a girls day with the kids at Thanksgiving point and I just had to show the cute pics of my favorite ladies with our cute kiddies my Jaxon and Ashleigh's Addi are in school so they aren't there but what fun we had letting them run around. and seeing the beautiful tulips however I didn't get very many pics which makes me sad but the ones we got (the group shot thanks to Jamie) are great fun. I have known these ladies at least since collage and Jamie and I have known each other since we were the size of the little ones so hard to believe how time goes.

Gavin was offered licorice and this is what he picked for himself seriously

A spring day at the Park

A month or so ago well April 19th to be exact on Sunday afternoon it was such a beautiful day we decided to go throw the ball around at the park get Jax hitting and practicing for baseball. We had such a great time letting the kids play being together as a family I love it when Grin is there and I can pull out the cameral instead of just follow the little one around making sure she doesn't kill herself. I love taking pictures I just wish I had the time to learn how to do it better. Anyway people were flying kites and having picnics and it just made us so excited for the summer to come. life is so much easier when you can entertain you kids with the outdoors. Gavin spends hours watching the Ants, Worms, or potato bugs anything that is crawling along and Ella is right behind him.

"The Cardboard Rocket" or house

Our new dining room chairs came in 3 gigantic box's. One box when to hauling all of the packaging out but I thought I would hang on to the other boxes for the kids to play with. For several days Jaxon wouldn't do anything with them he kept say that he needed his dad to go get some wood so he could build a tree house with them and I kept telling him they were to play with but couldn't last forever and the key to having fun is to make do with what you have get creative right? Well he finally gave up and started cutting away trying to make the two boxes one so it would "fit all of my friends". Finally he talked his mom into helping (lets face it it didn't take much coaxing this is right up my ally) anyway they had such great fun making and decorating this "hut" and have played in it like crazy over the last week or so. (I tried to tell Grinner that the chairs were even a bigger bargin since we got at least a month worth of playtime out of the boxes which is priceless). Anyway, they particularly enjoyed decorating it with markers and Ella really got into it I about died when I went out to see more marker on her than the house. They are washable markers but I was still in a panic one of my favorite outfits but the washable came through for us this time and after some overnight soaking we got it all out. She is truly the messiest kid that I have had so far. Nothing seems to make it were it belongs.

Ella covered in marker she had fun though

Jaxon working hard on making windows and putting his mark on "his side"

Jaxon got his own side but Ella and Gavin had to share they didn't seem to mind thank goodness

Our cute cardboard house

Ella climbs out of her crib

Ella is now 22 months old and has recently decided that she can climb out of her crib. So I put her down for her nap and either she climbs right out or when she wakes up she climbs out but either way we go to get her up with a fabulous surprise. I really didn't realize that she had so many things in her room that she could get into but as you can see below there is enough to make a nice little mess. After about a week of this I have started keeping a much better ear on the door and try to get her as soon as I hear her but she is quick and quiet. I just can't believe we are already embarking on this next step with her all of my not so favorite stages. The next step is potty training AAAHHHH!!

Ella and her bows

So my little Ella is getting so big. She is saying so much and playing so cute and being a girly girl. She is into dresses lately and I can't dress her in her room without her insisting on picking out the outfit so I usually distract her with "diego" or "curious George" while we dress and get our hair done. She really quite enjoys getting her hair done as well. On this day I was gathering the things we need to get do her hair and I said "Lets get some bows" she started running to her room yelling "bows, bows", and came out with these in here hair. they are the flowers that are on her curtains I velcroed them on so that I could launder them and she decided they would make great bows my favorite is that she new exactly where to put them and becuase of the velcro they stuck. What a cutie!
