Sports, Sports, and MORE Sports!

I knew marrying the man that I did and having two boys put me in the never ending sports zone. I mean we still go clear to Logan during football season so Grin can play with his buddies up there and up till a few years ago we were going for Basketball as well so I knew what I was getting into but nothing has prepared me for this and we are just getting started.

#1 Jaxon plays on a competition basketball team that just finished playing for the season on Monday they did however win there League Championship and they were a 3rd grade team on a 4th grade league so they had to work even harder for the win. (it is amazing what a year does for young boys and there size!)

#2Then He plays on a Competition Baseball Team. (not moms first choice) but he is pretty good and wanted to try so here we go. He does GREAT!! He sometimes makes silly mistakes because he isn't paying attention like stepping off second base and getting out on a really close game (his coach had words to say about that) but he also has had 4 home runs since the beginning of the season the next kid behind him has only one and he is doing great at pitching. It is actually kind of fun to watch even though I am NOT a baseball fan. unfortunately I may have to get use to it I think he rather play it than soccer :(

#3 then we play on a city soccer team which in the fall we did great and had a blast but this spring all the games have fallen during the baseball games so we only made it to one game. He had so much fun playing and did great . I am sad that we have to choose between them sports so young but if we stick to baseball of any kind soccer is out.

#4 then.... yes there is more. The coaches of our Comp baseball convinced us to also play city baseball machine pitch. This is his last year he qualifies for machine pitch and therefore should be able to do "all stars" which they say "is a good experience for the boys" but that means we will probably be doing baseball well into august YIKES! but I figured we already did our big vacation for the year so if there was a time this would be it. And playing machine pitch instead of kid pitch (like the comp team) is really quite fun because he can really hit them. He hits at least one home run a game. He tends to try and do everything on this team because the boys are all younger and just haven't had the practice that Jax has. He threw the ball at a boy the first game and about knocked him out because he just sat there and didn't even try to catch it. They just need more practice than a couple weeks before the game and then just playing the games. It is amazing what those kids can do even as young as 8-9 years old when they get some real practicing.

OK that is it for Jaxon but we still have Gavin in soccer this is his first year and he loves it. I just love this age the mass of kids following the ball hoping to get a break away and then hoping that when they do they can kick the ball into the tiny net but their energy is great and they have a blast. Gavin's best friend is on his team and wants to spend more time pushing each other than kicking the ball his mom has to keep telling him "Stop pushing Gavin and kick the ball" Good times.

I just keep thinking how do people do it with more than one child involved with anything. I just hope it is like having babies you finally get use to it and just keep adjusting to the next one.
The one game Jaxon got to play Grin coached so that was fun!

Jaxon playing goalie and kicking the ball out he stopped quite a few that game!

Gavin gets a break away but no goal that time :(

Practicing good thing they practice and get to hit it into the goal sometimes

The DC Sox Team

Good swing but do you see the ball??
