Just keep running, running, running
This year had a few changes instead of 181 miles it was 188 miles. Legs were changed and a few got easier and a few got harder. Mine were easier and Grinner a little harder. If you ask him he will go on and on about how his wife is the "runner" and why was he doing all of the hard stuff but when I offered to switch our middle legs with him he just couldn't let his ego do it. He just really wants to be able to tell everyone that he doesn't run but he did it anyway. So here are the results...

The Results

Kris, runner #4
Leg #4 5.1 miles started around 11:40 hot hot hot ran at a 9:14 mile pace but felt pretty crappy to hot.
Leg #16 4.2 miles nice cool started at around 9:30 ran at a 8:09 mile pace holy cow I knew that I was moving but I remember back in junior high we had to run the mile for P.E. I remember the teacher saying something like 9:43 as I literally collapsed on the grass about to die and I had only run 1 mile crazy what we can make are bodies do hu?

Leg #28 3.1 miles down hill most of the way by now we have lost track of times but I was pretty tired by then so it's a good thing.
grin runner #6

Leg #6 started around 2 pm 6.9 miles at an 8.06 pace (a lot of down hill)

Leg #18 8.1 miles we sort of lost track of times by now ( you start getting a little tired)but this leg was an increase of 884 ft of in elevation Grin and I had ran 6 miles of it the week before and wow it was a tuffy.

Leg #30 3.1 miles at a who knows pace easy breezy lemon squeezy. So he said, as he started the run with his G top on and his polo shirt. We went to the end and found him there with his garment top soaked through in his pocket and dying of thirst.

Team results in the mixed category

The over all winning team finished in 21:23:59 making an average mile of about 6.82 minute miles (WOW)

Our team came in #236 out of 438 teams running 188 miles in 30:24:24.8 making our average mile pace a 9.70 minute mile

The last team over the finished line finished in 36:58:23 making an average mile of 11:80 min mile

Last year our team finished 222nd out of 579 teams. Our total time was 27:58:24.1 making an average of 9:16 per mile so we ran a little faster last year but we had less miles and no rain.
So all in all we did pretty good. Especially considering our 2nd van end up running some of the worst legs in major rain while we watched the rain fall from in side "The Hub" a local Heber ma and pa restaurant eating major amounts of eggs and scones staying dry. Our trip up to the finish line was an event though. They shuttled everyone up so we had to hang out for a while and it was freezing and raining. Memories, memories, memories, aren't they great!!!

Go Kris! I'm so proud of you and jealous that you have drive to actually do it!
